Emile GALLE (1846–1904). A music cabinet in moulded and carved walnut with marquetry in various types of wood, featuring a quadrangular body with a small, ornate pediment and an upper shelf, surmounting three shelves inlaid with flowering branches and catkins, primroses and butterflies, and opening at the base into five compartments with vertical discs. A few small areas of lifting and stains. Engraved signature in the upper section: ‘Emile Gallé Nancy E’ with the Cross of Lorraine ‘G’. Circa 1895. H: 120, W: 51, D: 41 cm.
