Henri Joseph HARPIGNIES (1819–1916) Thatched cottages at Famars, 1849. Ink and wash drawing, signed and inscribed to Madame Bapterosses in the lower right-hand corner, with location and date in the lower left-hand corner. 27.7 x 22.5 cm (Unframed, pinholes, paper slightly warped) History: The Bapterosses family lived in Briare, near Saint-Privé, where Henri Harpignies stayed regularly and where he would eventually spend the rest of his life.
