Bernard SAINT-AIGNAN Prosper Bousbir, a reserved city Éditions d’Art J.-E. Laurent, Oudaïa, Rabat, n.d. [1950] 1 vol. In-4° in loose sheets within a slipcase with a title on the front cover, and in a cork slipcase with a title on the front cover and jute flaps (worn and damaged, with gaps in the cork). Introduction to the work with a frontispiece portrait of the authors. The bifolios, printed on one side, are bound spine-to-spine and interleaved with sheets of tinted tracing paper; the text is printed in green except for the first and last lines, which are in red; the page numbers are in large red numerals - 1 illustrated half-title page and 40 lithographs by J.-E. Laurent, including 13 full-page illustrations, 2 of which are in colour; the in-text illustrations are cut from white or green paper in various shapes and playfully complement the layout - A copy from the numbered first edition (no. 3 of 250 bound in cork, total print run: 256), with an autograph dedication by Saint-Aignan on the first blank flyleaf: “To Mrs Elyane Bonnet. We are particularly pleased that what we have created has been to the liking of a charming friend who is also an artist, perhaps a little lacking in self-confidence but whose talent is genuine. Casablanca, May 1950” and one drawing by J.-E. Laurent, signed in ink. Includes a loose lithograph under tracing paper (11x15.50 cm), as well as the cover of a yellow leaflet entitled “Bousbir” bearing the authors’ names, a black-and-white lithograph, and the handwritten note “Au fond du jardin”.
