Early 19th-century school. “Portrait of Joseph Duvet”, oil on canvas (57 x 45 cm) (signs of wear). Carved oak frame Joseph Duvet, born on 12 March 1700 in Bollezeele, died on 5 March 1803 in Noordpeene at the age of 102. A wealthy local figure in Noordpeene, he acquired the viscountcy of La Tour; he represented the Third Estate of Maritime Flanders in 1789 and was elected as the commune’s first mayor in 1790.
