Description
Legion of Honour badge in yellow gold, First Empire, second type (between 1806 and 1808) Crown with 12 movable palmettes Medallion: Obverse: Lifted effigy of the Emperor set in a blue enamelled band with "Napoléon Emp. des Français" in gold lettering. Reverse: Eagle with outstretched wings set in a blue enamelled band with, in gold letters, "Honneur et patrie" ("Honour and Country"). Star with five white enamelled double rays, with protruding points (not peaked), joined in the middle by a wreath of oak and laurel. Gross weight: 16 g. approx. (Minor wear to the enamel) To be inspected. The jewel will be given to the buyer after it has been hallmarked by the Guarantee department.
