Description
A pair of solid silver candlesticks, 1kg025, bearing the ‘1st rooster’ hallmark, PARIS 1798–1809, Directoire period. The base is moulded with water leaves and embellished with an engraving of flowers and laurel leaves. The baluster shaft is chiselled with flowers and foliage, with a frieze of palmettes on the bowl section. Silversmith: Antoine GUILLEMIN. Height: 26cm (1 crack on the shaft).
