(Flaking lacquer, minor losses) H: 33 cm.
Cundi Bodhisattva, also known as the ‘Bodhisattva of 700 million’, is a bodhisattva venerated in both exoteric and esoteric Buddhism. His characteristic iconography includes a third eye and eighteen arms, holding various attributes, notably a banner, a lotus flower, a vase, a rope, the Wheel of the Dharma, a conch shell, a kundika, a sword, a rosary, a pomegranate, an axe, a hook and a vajra. The eighteen arms represent the profound principles of the path to Enlightenment.
