Description
MOREAU Hippolyte (1832–1927), *The Song of the Lark*, a patinated bronze sculpture depicting a young girl seated on a tree trunk, with a nest of young birds at her feet. Set on a circular plinth adorned with a cartouche bearing the inscription ‘Chant de l’alouette – Hte Moreau – Médaille au Salon’. Signed on the base, cast in the traditional method, second half of the 19th century. Height: 49 cm. (Some wear to the patina)
