Italian school circa 1780, Exceptional suite of 48 oval miniatures, portraits of the popes, painted watercolour on bone 6x5cm. Solid silver medallions, 40 grams each, 10.5x6 cm, chased and decorated with a ribbon bow, foliage and the names of the popes and the date of the beginning of their reign, inscribed in Italian on a plate in the form of unrolled parchment. The medallions are presented in groups of eight, on six wooden trays covered in modern green velvet.
