Japan, Meiji period, Set of four Satsuma earthenware pieces, comprising a baluster vase on a pedestal, a small lidded tripod pot, a small koro/incense burner, and a quadrangular master’s vase on a pedestal decorated with scenes featuring figures. Marked Satsuma, Dai Nippon Satsuma Hododa and Sekizan (?) Minor firing flaws. H. 4 to 24.5 cm Also included is a tripod vase, formerly used as an incense burner, in Kutani porcelain, decorated in shades of red with gold highlights depicting birds and flowers (damaged and missing its lid).
