Kingdom of Egypt, 1938 Gift box for the marriage of King Farouk I of Egypt to Queen Farida Round, in silver and green enamel, decorated around the rim with laurel wreaths and ribbons, and on the lid with a photographic portrait of Queen Farida surmounted by a crown and encircled by pearls and laurels. This box was intended as a gift for close guests at the wedding of King Farouk I and Queen Farida of Egypt, which took place on 20 January 1938 at the Saraya Koubba in Cairo. Height 3.9 cm, length 10.1 cm, width 9.6 cm Gross weight: 340 g Silver hallmark: Minerve (trace) Excellent condition Provenance : Descendants of the imperial Ottoman and royal Egyptian families. [XD]
