Charles Christofle, 1844-1847.
RARE LADLE FROM THE TABLE SERVICE OF LOUIS-PHILIPPE IER, KING OF THE FRENCH, AT THE CHÂTEAU D'EU.
Engraved with the coat of arms of the last king of the French, azure with three fleurs-de-lys or with a silver label surmounted by a closed crown, on a background of tricoloured flags, with the sceptre and the hand of justice in saltire.

Length: 35 cm
Hallmarks: de maître for Charles Christofle circa 1844-1848, and de maître for the Christofle company, re-inscribed after 1862 on an older hallmark, with the CHRISTOFLE stamp and the EU mark.
Designated in the State of Christofle Silverware taken out of the Palais d'Eu and sent to England to the d'Orléans family after the revolution of February 1848 (see ill. annex cat.).
