RARE ICE-CREAM SPOON FROM THE TABLE OF LOUIS-PHILIPPE IER, KING OF THE FRENCH, AND HIS FAMILY AT THE CHÂTEAU D'EU Engraved with the coat of arms of the last king of the French, azure with three golden fleurs-de-lys with a silver label surmounted by a closed crown, on a background of tricoloured flags, with the sceptre and the hand of justice in saltire. Threaded model Gilt metal Length: 22.4 cm Hallmarks: Master for Charles Christofle circa 1844-1848 and Christofle with the CHRISTOFLE stamp and the EU mark. These pieces are designated in the State of Christofle Silverware taken out of the Palace of Eu and sent to England to the Orleans family after the revolution of February 1848 (see ill. annex cat.).
