RARE DESSERT KNIFE FROM THE TABLE OF LOUIS-PHILIPPE IER, KING OF THE FRENCH, AT THE CHÂTEAU D'EU.
Engraved with the coat of arms of the last king of the French, azure with three golden fleurs-de-lys with a silver label surmounted by the closed crown, on a background of tricoloured flags, with the sceptre and the hand of justice in saltire.

Hallmarks: de maître for Charles Christofle circa 1844-1848, with the CHRISTOFLE stamp and the EU mark.
Designated in the State of Christofle Silverware taken out of the Palace of Eu and sent to England to the Orleans family after the revolution of February 1848 (see ill. annex cat.).
