A wooden drop-front secretary desk with rosewood veneer, featuring leaf-motif marquetry within frames, with a curved front and sides. Featuring a shaped top in pink-veined marble, it opens to reveal a first drawer, a flap concealing three drawers, and then three further drawers. With tapered legs, it rests on four small, slightly curved feet. 20th century, Louis XV-Transition style. With its four keys (one of which is misshapen; locks are functional). Approx. 146 x 86 x 47 cm. (Signs of use and wear, knocks, chips, cracks and damage to the veneer; some metal fittings require reattaching).
