HERMÈS – ‘Feux d’artifice’ design, silk twill square printed in shades of black and red, based on a design by Michel Duchêne. 1987. 90 x 90 cm (uneven edges in places, loose threads, stains). Note: Special edition created in 1987 to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the House of Hermès. The horseman depicted in the centre of the scarf is the ‘fireworks horseman’, who has become the iconic statue adorning the roof of the Hermès building at 24 Rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré in Paris.
