Description
Large tripod incense burner in an archaic Ding style, made of bronze with a brown patina; the sides are covered with raised knobs against a background of leiwen motifs; two vertical handles rise from the rim, decorated with leiwen on the inside. With a lid and a base in carved and openwork wood; the lid handle is in the shape of a lotus bud. China, Qing period, 18th century. (Minor damage to the lid and base). Height without handles: 38 cm - Total height with lid and base: 67 cm - Diameter of opening: 40 cm. Weight: 21.7 kg. Provenance: collection of a diplomat in China in the first half of the 20th century.
