Description
LIP wristwatch, ‘ELECTRONIC VINTAGE’ model, known as the ‘Général de Gaulle’, with an 18-carat gold case bearing an eagle’s head hallmark and a black leather strap, in its original PB presentation box. 47.9 g. Circa 1960; model reproduced on page 140 of the book by Marie Pia Coustants and Daniel Galazzo, *LIP, des heures à compter*. Published by GLENAT in 2017. This movement, featuring particularly innovative technology, was sold between 1958 and 1960. It combines electrical and mechanical elements using two batteries that generate an electrical impulse and maintain the oscillation of a balance wheel. The watch is in good overall condition; it has not been opened or tested, and there are a few scratches on the back of the case (needs servicing).
