Description
Léonard BOUDIN (1735–1807): Tomb-shaped chest of drawers in wood and wood marquetry, with curved sides and four drawers arranged in three rows. Chiselled and gilded bronze ornamentation. Top in veined grey marble. The chest bears the maker’s mark L. BOUDIN and JME, standing for ‘Jurande des menuisiers ébénistes’ (Guild of Joiners and Cabinetmakers). 18th-century, Louis XV period. 86 x 129 x 68 cm. A few areas where the veneer has come away and some oxidation on the bronze.
