Anonymous Berck school. Unfinished oil on canvas, featuring seven figures — fishermen and a woman in a red petticoat — carrying or hauling a fishing boat beached on the sand. Only the group of figures and the hull of the boat are fully finished, with great skill; the background (sky and foreshore) remains in a rough state, revealing the preparatory pencil sketch on the canvas. 50 x 75 cm (damage). A rare find in a Berck attic following an inheritance; lot presented by Mr Jean-Paul Miny, a historian of Berck life, as part of Heritage Days.
