A large decorative panel in two parts, painted on hardboard, one of which is curved, forming the former cladding of a counter. Signed ‘DUCATEL’ in the bottom right-hand corner. The design, featuring bright colours and a stylised pattern, depicts themes of sport and high society life in Le Touquet: a golfer accompanied by his greyhound; horsemen and racing greyhounds; a sulky race; a male and female tennis player; a scene of high society evening entertainment featuring couples in evening dress, a musician and a maître d’hôtel presenting a champagne bucket; the whole composition punctuated by decorative floral basins.
