After Théodore GÉRICAULT (1791–1824) Five horses seen from behind in a stable Oil on canvas, a copy after Théodore Géricault’s famous composition held at the Louvre Museum (RF 2043), depicting five horses’ hindquarters covered with chequered cloths in front of a feeding trough lined with straw. Wooden frame with gilded stucco decoration featuring rows of pearls and heart-shaped motifs, 19th century. Signature to be verified in the lower right-hand corner. Crackling, signs of wear. A good-quality 19th-century copy. Dimensions: 57 x 45 cm.
