A human-faced dance mask featuring a slightly parted mouth with wooden teeth, a large, flat nose, slit eyes and a rounded forehead. The area around the face is made of upholstery nails, earth, plant fibres, fabric and hair. These masks were used during funeral ceremonies and could also act as ‘detective masks’ by identifying a person guilty of crimes. Wood, traces of polychromy.
