A desk folder bound in embossed leather featuring Art Nouveau and Japanese-inspired motifs. The design is divided into hexagonal panels, which have a brown or gold patina. Inside these panels, various motifs—such as insects, dogs, fish, shells, birds, plants, flowers and so on—are visible. The interior is divided into three compartments lined with brown moiré fabric. (There are a few small areas missing from the edging around the edges of the box). Attributed to the firm SUSSE Frères in Paris. Date: c. 1880. Height 20 cm, depth 15 cm, length 28.5 cm.
