A plain silver tastevin, resting on a plain stem, with a handle in the shape of an entwined serpent; the base is engraved with the owner’s name. Hallmarks of the Fermiers Généraux of AUVERGNE, 18th century. Jurisdiction of RIOM. Master silversmith’s mark: André LASHERMES, practising from 1757 in LE PUY-EN-VELAY (mark repeated four times). Diameter: 8cm. Weight: 94g. Hallmark reproduced in the reference work *Les orfèvres d’Auvergne* by C. CASSAN, pages 108, 122 and 125.
