An officer’s clock used as an alarm clock, made of gilded bronze in the form of a small ancient-style temple, with a glass face bevelled on all sides, engraved with a Baron’s torus on the upper section beneath the handle; the dial is signed by the clockmaker ROY et Fils, located at 13 & 16 Palais Royal in Paris; a model intended for the British market, located at 221 Regent Street in London; movement signed on the back, featuring an English anchor escapement, a bimetallic screw-regulated balance, a grand strike for the hours and quarters, and an alarm strike; circa 1860. 19 x 11.5 x 10 cm. The case back and the lever operating the silence, chime and grand chime functions are missing; the double key is missing; the minute hand needs replacing; servicing required; in good condition
