Description
Antoine-Henri VOISIN (1733–1815). A Renaissance-style gilded bronze wall clock featuring a lion’s head, a faun, oak leaves and acorns, and a bow beneath the dial, topped by an urn garlanded with holly at the very top, with a domed, white-enamelled dial featuring openwork hands in gilded brass, and Roman and Arabic numerals to indicate the hours and minutes. String-wound movement, signed ‘Henry Voisin’ on the movement and numbered ‘305’. Paris, Louis XVI period. 58 x 29 x 10 cm. Winding key; a tassel is missing from the right-hand side where the case curves; minor wear to the gilding; the hallmark may have been added later.
