School of the second half of the 19th century, after MURILLO. “The Assumption of the Virgin”. Oil on canvas. Stretcher: 92 x 70 cm; including frame: 115 x 92.5 cm. Minor wear to the paint layer, visible restoration on the reverse of the canvas, and small areas missing from the frame. According to family tradition, this work may be attributed to a Russian female painter from the pre-Bolshevik era.
