Description
GALLE FURNITURE (1904–1936). A freestanding display cabinet with lighting, made of rosewood and rosewood veneer, fitted with four glass shelves accessed via a front door; the side panels are of glass, whilst the back is adorned with rich marquetry depicting cascading flowering branches, the lower section featuring a slightly raised decoration of triangles and stylised forms, signed within the marquetry, original key with floral motif, dating from the transitional period between Art Nouveau and Art Deco, circa 1925. 158 x 47.5 x 30 cm. The cornice is probably missing; there is some wear and tear, certain areas are slightly sun-faded, and there are a few signs of use
