HELLUIN & MATTLINGER for BOUCHERON, Paris, circa 1953. Rectangular powder compact in 800‰ silver and 750‰ yellow gold, with a mirror; the body is decorated with fine fluting, whilst the lid is openwork featuring two parrots set against a floral motif accented by eight ruby cabochons. M.O. HELLUIN & MATTLINGER (Paris, 1934–?), specialising in ‘repérée’ boxes (registered designs) for BOUCHERON, notably creating invisible hinges for powder boxes in 1953. 7.8 x 6.3 x 1.3 cm. Weight: 169g2. Minor scuffs and slight wear.
