Description
PARIS, 1809–1819. Oval soup tureen on a pedestal, in 950‰ silver, chiselled with a decoration of engraved palm friezes, bearing the monogram DD. The bowl is shaped like a burst pomegranate and a water leaf. The handles are decorated with acanthus leaves. Empire period. Second rooster hallmark, first fineness mark and Minerva hallmark; crafted in Paris between 1809 and 1819. Crab hallmark, re-hallmarked from 1838 onwards. H. 34 x 43 x 22.5 cm. 2 kg 500. A few minor distortions and slight imperfections.
