ERARD – Quarter-tail piano in exotic wood veneer, with a solid cast-iron frame and crossed strings. It stands on six tapered, fluted legs with bronze feet, and is marked on the top with “Par Brevet d’Invention P. ERARD 13 & 21 rue du Mail – Paris” - Louis XVI style, Trianon model – No. 122850 from 1934 – H. 100 – W. 182 – D. 146 cm. The piano was delivered to Dr GUILLARD, a surgeon in Coutances, in 1934; it survived the bombing of his private mansion in 1944 (minor damage, a few damaged strings; requires servicing)
