Dragoon officer's sabre model 1784, with attached scabbard.
Gilt cast brass mounting, five-point guard forming a palmette-shaped openwork shell known as a "battle guard". Cut-out cap with short tail, line-decorated with a diamond-shaped rivet knob. Wooden handle covered in basane and filigree with double filigree of braided brass wire. Scabbard with leather tie under the frame. Beautiful, slightly curved, flat-backed blade, original blued and gold, one-third etched with trophies of arms, floral motifs and crowned imperial eagles. Signature in gold cartouches on the 1st third "Coulaux frères" on one side and "Manufacture de Klingenthal" on the other side. Black leather scabbard with three brass accolades and two steel suspension rings, asymmetrical brass stinger.
