Description

Spain, 18th century. Superb flintlock blunderbuss signed "IPMDEOP". Cal. 26 mm approx. All metal parts with small grey patina and all silver fittings decorated with trophies of arms, well hallmarked. Strong barrel with sides to the thunder, with beads then tromblonné with the mouth. To the thunderbolt, several gunsmith's hallmarks including "I E NAS" surmounted by a royal crown, to be identified, and three fleurs-de-lys. Flat-bodied flintlock signed, partly legible "IPM DEOP" (?) and chased with scrolls, flat-bodied swan-neck hammer and silver counterplate decorated en suite. Moulded and squared walnut stock with long barrel and silver thumb piece decorated in succession, the butt plate also in silver and well hallmarked. Functional double cocking mechanism. The inside of the barrel with small oxidation of surface flower of rust. Complete. 75 cm (barrel 40 cm). (wear and minor accidents from use, good condition).
