Description
France, Third Republic (1870–1940). Historical memento of Mr Henry Mascaras, President of the Association of War Disabled and Wounded of Casablanca and the surrounding region. Order of the Legion of Honour, established in 1802. His Officer’s Star, ‘Luxe’ model, in enamelled silver, hallmarked with a boar’s head and a gold centre. All the balls on the points are set with diamond chips. Complete with its original rosette ribbon. Presented in its case, the lid gilded with the small inscription "ASSOCIATION OF WAR INJURED AND DISABLED VETERANS OF CASABLANCA AND ITS REGION TO ITS PRESIDENT MR HENRY MASCARAS 25 MAY 1939". Gross weight: 32.10 g. (Signs of wear and patina from age, in good condition).
