Description
France, Revolution (1789–1795). Button from a National Guard infantry or cavalry uniform, circa 1792. Made of brass, stamped with the fasces surmounted by a Phrygian cap between oak leaves and the inscription "REPUBLIQUE FRANCAISE". Diameter approx. 2.6 cm. (Signs of wear and patina, button worn, as found). One button slightly misshapen. Fairly good condition).
