Officer’s sword.
Cast brass mount, faceted pommel decorated with foliage in repoussé and surmounted by a prominent rivet-style knob. Fluted ebony tang decorated in the centre with an oval brass ring featuring a continuous plant motif. Faceted hilt joint, decorated in the centre with pearls and ending at a right angle on the crossguard with reinforcement. Guard plate decorated with a sun on a radiating background, the border adorned with pearls, and a short, coiled quillon. Hilt tie missing. Blade with a light grey patina, straight, with a hollow edge and flat back, chiselled one-third of the way with trophies of arms and floral motifs on one side and a radiating sun on the other. Blackened leather scabbard with a central back seam and two cast brass fittings cut in a scalloped shape and decorated with line work. Pommel with a button.
