Infantry sabre known as the ‘briquet’, model AN XI, from the Imperial Manufactory of Klingenthal, May 1815.
Bronze mount with twenty-eight flutes. Single-bladed guard, hallmarked and with a cursive “B” in an oval for BISCH
Joseph, 2nd class inspector at the Klingenthal Manufactory, corresponding to the period 1809–1825, and “B” within a wreath of foliage Jean-Georges BICK, 1st class inspector at the Klingenthal Manufactory, corresponding to the period 1815, and "B" beneath a star for Lieutenant-Colonel Étienne Louis BORSON, inspector from 1814 to 1816. Flat, curved blade with a mottled grey patina, flat back marked "Manufacture Impériale du Klingenthal mai 1815". It is stamped on the heel with a "B" within a wreath of foliage for First Class Inspector Jean-Georges BICK, "L" within a circle for 2nd Class Inspector François Louis LOBSTEIN from 1804 to 1821 and "B" beneath a star for Lieutenant-Colonel Étienne Louis BORSON, inspector from 1814 to 1816. Black leather scabbard with two brass fittings, bearing no visible marks or hallmarks; the pommel has a button-shaped crossguard, originally with a rectangular crossguard (removed).
