Description
France, Louis-Philippe (1830–1848). Model 1816 infantry artillery sword, a variant featuring the rooster of the July Monarchy in relief on the pommel, without a scabbard. One-piece cast brass mount with eighteen rows of scales and no rivets. The pommel is decorated with the cockerel of the July Monarchy, its right leg resting on a globe, in relief on the front only. Straight crossguard with a sandblasted finish and no decoration. Cravate missing. Sword blade of the 1831 model, with a grey patina and traces of oxidation, slightly orange. 63 cm (48.5 cm). (Signs of wear and normal use; mount with an interesting variation, uncommon; sold as is).
