Hilt in cast bronze with twenty-six flutes. Straight crossguard with quillons ending in small discs. Manufacturer’s mark on the heel ‘COULAUX & C’ and stamped ‘P’ beneath a star within a diamond. Blackened leather scabbard with a back seam offset to one side within one of the rounded sections, featuring two brass fittings; the chape has a trigger guard. The tip is stamped “B” beneath a star within a shield and “24” within a circle.
