Description
France, Louis-Philippe (1830–1848). Model 1831 infantry sabre, without scabbard. Cast brass mount with twenty-six flutes. Straight crossguard with quillons ending in rings, marked "1270". Grey, orange-peel oxidised double-edged blade with a carp-tongue shape and a triangular flat at the heel. Trace of a semi-circular maker’s mark on the blade heel, possibly reading “TALABOT”. 63.5 cm (Blade 48.5 cm). (As is).
