Description
France, Louis-Philippe (1830–1848). Model 1831 infantry sabre, privately made by “PIHET FRERES” in Châtellerault, without scabbard. Cast brass hilt with 26 flutes. Blade with a light grey patina, stained in places, double-edged with a carp-tail shape and a triangular flat at the heel, bearing hallmarks and the inscription "Pihet Frères" on one side and "Châtellerault 1832" on the other. 64 cm (Blade 48.2 cm). (Signs of wear and minor damage from use; in fairly good condition).
