Model 1831 infantry sabre, privately manufactured by “PIHET FRERES” in Châtellerault, without scabbard.
Cast brass hilt with twenty-six flutes, the underside of the crossguard stamped. Blade with a light grey patina, double-edged with a carp-tail shape and a triangular flat at the heel, bearing hallmarks and the inscription "Pihet Frères" on one side and "Châtellerault 1832" on the other.
