Description
France, Louis-Philippe (1830–1848). Model 1831 infantry sabre, privately manufactured by “PIHET FRERES” in Châtellerault, without scabbard. Cast brass hilt with twenty-six flutes, the underside of the crossguard stamped. Blade with a light grey patina, double-edged with a carp-tail shape and a triangular flat at the heel, bearing hallmarks and the inscription "Pihet Frères" on one side and "Châtellerault 1832" on the other. 64 cm (Blade 49 cm). (Signs of wear and normal use, in good condition).
