Description
France, Reign of Louis-Philippe (1830–1848). Model 1831 infantry sabre, privately manufactured by "PIHET FRERES" in Châtellerault. Cast brass hilt with twenty-six flutes. White double-edged blade in a carp-tail shape with a triangular flat at the heel, bearing hallmarks and the inscription "Pihet Frères" on one side and "Châtellerault 1832" on the other. 63.8 cm (Blade 49 cm). (Signs of wear and tear, dents on the blade edges. Fairly good condition).
