Officer’s percussion target pistol, marked “PONDEVAUX & JESSY à St ETIENNE”.
Calibre approx. 18 mm. All parts oxidised with a rust-patina finish. Octagonal barrel with fine rifling, fitted with rear sight and front sight. The breech block is engraved with scrolls. Rear percussion lock engraved with a small floral design, signed "PONDEVAUX & JESSY A St ETIENNE", and a round-bodied hammer engraved in the same style. All screw heads are engraved. Walnut stock with steel caps engraved in the same style. Trigger under steel cut-out triggers, chiselled with a small matching decoration. Trigger guard missing. Functional mechanism with two clear cocking notches and no play. Inside of the barrel shows surface oxidation. Complete.
32 cm (barrels 17.5 cm).
