Description
France, Louis-Philippe (1830–1848). Pocket pistol with box-type frame and percussion mechanism, circa 1840. Calibre approximately 15 mm. All metal parts are grey and mottled. Smooth-bore octagonal barrel. The chambers and breech block are undecorated. Trigger under the trigger guard. Walnut stock with a flat top. Mechanism with two distinct cocking notches, free of play. The inside of the barrel shows slight surface oxidation (rust spots). Complete. 21 cm (barrel 9 cm). (Signs of wear and normal use, a chip on the right side of the stock; in fairly good condition).
