Description
France, Second Empire (1852–1870). 1845 model cartridge pouch for a skirmisher of the Imperial Guard, marked "59 DE L". The flap originally bore the cartridge pouch plate featuring a crowned eagle stamped in brass and four hunting figures stamped in brass in each corner. The reverse of the plate is engraved with the maker’s mark “AUDOUIN FRERES”, dated 1860 and registered 1919, then marked “59 DE L”. In its original condition, never previously in a collection. 19 x 10.5 x 5.5 cm (box). 21 x 21 cm (pattelette). (Signs of wear and tear, good condition).
