1816-type artillery pike for the National Guard.
One-piece cast brass mount with eighteen scale-like ridges and no rivets. The pommel stamped with the uncrowned imperial eagle resting on a thunderbolt on each side. Straight crossguard with a sandblasted finish and no decoration; one end marked ‘515’. Model 1816 sword blade with a light grey patina, stained in places, featuring two small hollows near the heel and a long hollow towards the point. Manufacturer’s mark heavily worn, partly illegible, dated 1818. No hallmarks visible. Blackened leather scabbard with a central back seam and two brass fittings; the chape has a trigger guard and is marked “1194”.

(Wear and minor signs of use, impact mark on the top of the crossguard, scabbard seam open for approximately twenty centimetres, fairly good condition).
