Small 1831-style sabre (lightweight version known as the 1855 model), for the Fire Brigade.
Cast brass hilt with twenty-six flutes. Crossguard ending in quillons decorated with perforated rings for the Fire Brigade. Blade with a light grey patina and traces of oxidation, double-edged with a central ridge, without manufacturer’s mark or hallmark. Blackened leather scabbard with a central back seam and two brass fittings; the pommel features a shield-shaped button, with a blackened, varnished leather scabbard hanger.
59 cm (blade 46 cm).
