Infantry sabre known as a ‘briquet’, AN XI model, with no maker’s mark or hallmark.
Cast brass mount with twenty-eight flutes and a single-bar guard with traces of gilding. Flat, slightly curved blade with a flat back, showing a light grey, mottled patina.
